Sketching Faces

I love sketching, particularly faces. Like most artists, I continue to learn and sketch from works of the masters. This male head is after Van Dyck. I keep a sketchbook and pencil in my purse and sketch the wonderful faces of people around me. I live near a mall by the art college. The students express themselves in their faces and clothes. The spiky hair styles; the piercings; the colourful and different clothes all inspire me. Drawing also maintains my eye and hand coordination.

In August 2010 my paintings will be exhibited at the Art for All Canada’s Rainbow Gallery. The Gallery is at 80 Front St. East across from Toronto’s historic St. Lawrence Market. http://www.artforallcanada.org.
