The sunset is a brilliant orange and casts a glow over the land. There is a purple veil over the dark sky and mainly covers the right half of the sky. Half the land lies fallow to recover for the next growth cycle. The foliage in the background and the rows of wheat leading to the background create depth. The snow unites the painting.
