This is one of my favourite works. I love the colours in the water. Water is transparent and you see the colours under and around it. Below the water you might see rocks, clear sand or a dark mud colour. In this scene, I saw the warm sunlight on the waterfall and the blue of the sky. My warm sunlight is orange against the complement, blue. These complements when painted side by side enhance each colour (simultaneous contrast). On the water’s flat surface before it reaches the falls, there is blue from the sky, some green from the bushes and a small amount of muted orange added for contrast. The colours and textures in the waterfall are exciting and vibrant.
