In my posts, you see the numerous techniques and styles used by artists to create movement. The Mexican artist, Jose Clemente Orozco (1883-1949) did the above painting, Zapatistas (1931). Orozco repeats the shapes of the Zapatistas across the horizontal support. The Zapatistas slant in the same direction. The repetition and direction of the figures create the illusion of movement.
