This is my painting, Basketball Slam Dunk. I wanted to convey
the drama at the basketball hoop. I felt the best method to convey drama was
contrast of value (gray scale). I have added a gray scale image to help you see
the different values. The player with the ball has a dark value on his arm
under the ball. There is light shining along his upraised arm. This player’s
dark uniform contrasts with the lighter uniforms of the other players. The
abstract background shape on the right follows the oblique shape of the main
player.
