I am currently painting a waterfall and mist. There is a change of direction in waterfalls. There is the top plane and the vertical waterfall. In the original image, the planes of the waterfalls have a sharp edge. Since the waterfall is not my focal point, I made the change of planes more curved. In my painting, The Grain Mill, you see 2 waterfalls. The waterfall directly facing the viewer has a sharper edge at the plane change then the waterfall at an angle.
