Storms in Art, My Painting Fierce Storm over Lake, Turner's Snowstorm

In my painting, Fierce Storm over Lake, I wanted to convey the power and fury of the storm. I used dark values (gray scale) in the sky and land. I also used a dominant cool temperature. My sky is painted with diagonal strokes. Since the emphasis was on the sky it is the largest shape in my painting. The warm pink near the horizon line contrasts and enhances the cool dark blue of the sky. The top painting, Snowstorm, by Turner also shows the fury of a storm. Turner painted the dark mass with swirling and diagonal shapes.
