In my painting, Golfer, I wanted to convey the movement of the
golf club and the contrast of light and shadow on a warm sunny day. I used the
golfer’s gesture and smudged the club to emphasize movement. The warm light on
the ground contrasts with the cool shadow. This temperature and value (light,
dark, gray scale) contrast were repeated in the figure to show the warm sunny
day.
This is a digital painting using traditional oil painting
techniques and a painterly approach. I used virtual brushes and paints (Corel
Painter 12 and Intuos5 drawing pen and tablet).
