I talked about colour in art. In my painting, Cherries, the local colour of the cherries is a violet red. I used an orange red with yellow and some white to make the part of the cherries in sunlight. The highlight is a pink white. The form shadow is violet. The highlight on the cherries is the lightest value and the mid tone (between the light and shadow) is darker. The form shadow is dark. The temperature and value of the cherries create the 3rd dimension of the cherries in space. You can see the red reflection from the cherries in the shadow of the trees. The modeling of the cherries with value is seen clearly in the grayscale image.
