I am painting a train passing through the landscape. I hope to achieve the speed and movement achieved by many artists. Turner in his painting, Rain, Steam and Speed, captured these elements with loose, expressive brushstrokes. The train and tracks are separated by 2 luminous pieces of land. Turner blurred his edges by using the rain and mist. The train and tracks are a diagonal shape moving towards the viewer. Another work I admire is Monet’s The Gare, St. Lazare. The atmosphere and steam painted by Monet contrast with the trains.
