In this summer landscape, the lone tree reaches up into the blue sky. The tree casts its shadow over the bushes below, the rock and water. All activity in the painting is in the foreground, i.e. bushes, rock, tree and in the sky. The sun is shining from the right. I like to sit under the tree and enjoy the cool blue water.
