Corn and Tomatoes, A Digital Painting
The above image is my first digital painting, Corn and Tomatoes. I used only virtual brushes and paints. I did not use any aides i.e. effects. The switch to a computer gave me the opportunity to paint in the afternoon and at other times in the day. There was no clean up so I was not limited by my disability and fatigue. I have an Intuos5 drawing tablet and pen and I used a trial edition of Corel Painter 12. I selected oil and canvas as my medium and support. I chose the oil real bristle brushes. Although my first try is somewhat blurred, I wanted to create a painterly image. My color scheme is based on cool green and warm red hues. While mixing my colors I kept in mind the Munsell color wheel, values and temperatures necessary for modeling the forms. Let me know what you think of this painting.
