This is a detail from my painting, Autumn Landscape, and an image of the detail in a gray scale (values).
The tops of these forms (cubes, cylinders, half spheres, reverse cones) include colours of the objects above them. They might include warm sunlight, blue sky colours, green from the leaves. A still life under a north sky would have cool light. These tops are usually lighter than the object’s sides in light. The tops have sharp edges with the sides of the forms. I wrote previously that I soften these edges slightly as I find the edges so sharp that the object does not hold its form. I had written about rectangular forms. These are really cube forms as rectangles are usually shapes.

Tomorrow I will ask you to join the fight against breast cancer. You can bid and possibly buy my painting, Autumn Landscape, on eBay. 50% of the money I receive will be donated to this cause.
